Small Group Study
Interrupting a Rude World
7 Ways You Can Interrupt the Space You Occupy
Interrupting a Rude World is a timely, practical small group study that explores the transformative power of genuine hospitality — not as a nicety, but as a cultural force. Over seven engaging sessions, your group will discover the core principles of hospitality and how living them out can shift the atmosphere around you, one interaction at a time.
Each session includes:
- A relatable, real-life story to spark conversation
- A clear, compelling conclusion
- Key Scriptures to anchor the discussion
- Reflection questions to go deeper
- Space to write a personal action step for the week ahead
Rudeness isn't hard to find anymore — it's in our feeds, our conversations, our communities, and sometimes even our own hearts. But what if something as simple as hospitality could change that?
Because the goal isn't just to talk about change — it's to be the change. Week by week, your group will move from insight to action, embracing a simple but powerful way of living that our culture desperately needs.

The 7 Sessions
Session 1
Value everyone you meet.
Intentional acknowledgement, such as asking for and using a server's name to make them feel seen.
Session 2
Build real relationships.
Encourages moving beyond the transaction by getting to know the staff and people at the places you frequent.
Session 3
Treat everyone the same.
A lesson in universal grace—holding the door or showing kindness to everyone without exception or bias.
Session 4
Go out of your way.
Choosing the 'inconvenient' path specifically to create space for connection with those around you.
Session 5
Mentor others in hospitality.
Modeling the behavior for others to 'catch,' as hospitality is better caught than taught.
Session 6
Let people leave happy.
Choosing kindness over being right in moments of tension to defuse a situation.
Session 7
Be positive and proactive.
Starting conversations with simple, sincere questions like 'How are you doing today?' to show genuine care.
